Designed for competition and tested by Beretta’s own shooting team, the new Beretta 694 Sporting Shotgun provides a smooth and intuitive shooting experience. The new shape of the action as well as the stock allow for a less obstructed field of view giving the 694 a “racing feel” while providing an eye-catching sophisticated overall look. The newly added steel forend iron system provides an improved sensation when opening the gun and is fitted with a replaceable latch to better suit the loading preferences of the owner. The 694 Sporting’s stock has been completely redesigned with a wider blade and comb and a longer pistol grip featuring more palm swell. These ergonomic improvements make the 694 Sporting more comfortable while still ensuring that the shooter is able to maintain a natural and stable grip on the shotgun. The shooter’s purchase on the shotgun is aided additionally by the 1.5 pitch checkering on the pistol grip and forend. The newly designed, steel action has a modern sporting look and features side panels with a mirrored profile and diagonal lines underlined by a blue graphic design. The bottom of the action is decorated with Beretta’s three arrows and 694 logo, again in blue, while the Nistan finishing lends it the typical matte grey color. The Beretta 694 Shotgun’s firing selector, present on the sporting version only, is located inside the safety lever that features new checkering and ergonomics. The steel top lever features a new, low profile and an anti-glare finish and has been designed to be ergonomic and easy to operate for both right and left-handed shooters. Beretta’s Steelium Plus barrels found on the 694 Sporting Shotgun are on the cutting edge of shotgun barrel technology. Deep drilling, cold hammer forging and vacuum distension provide the steel with mechanical characteristics that are ideal when superior ballistic performance has to be achieved. Steel plus barrel are easily able to provide denser more uniform shot patterns, faster and more accurate second shots, and reduction in perceived muzzle jump. The barrels are outfitted with a 10×8 profile top rib and white front sight.
