Since its foundation by Alfred Nobel in 1872, Rio Ammunition’s parent company MAXAM has become a global organization composed of five business units, 6,500 employees on the five continents, industrial facilities in more than 45 countries and sales in over 100. Strongly positioned as a major international player in a modern-day global market, MAXAM Outdoors, its sporting ammunition division, has manufacturing plants in Spain, the UK and USA producing more than 500M shells annually.
The Rio Ammunition brand was founded in 1896 and since then it has gone from strength to strength and is now sold in more than 60 countries serving millions of hunters and shooters around the world. RIO’s sponsored shooters have represented their countries in various Olympic Games and won countless world shooting championships.

Opened in June 2015, RIO’s state-of-the-art 105,000 sq. ft. North American facility in Marshall, TX, assembles a wide range of hunting and target loads for the North American sportsman.
