Jennings Bryco
Jennings Firearms, later known as Bryco Arms, had a tumultuous history in the firearms industry. The company was founded by Bruce Jennings in the 1970s and gained popularity for producing affordable handguns, particularly the Jennings J-22 and J-25 semi-automatic pistols. However, their firearms soon gained a reputation for quality and safety issues, leading to multiple lawsuits and a bankruptcy filing in the early 1990s. Despite the bankruptcy, the company reemerged as Bryco Arms and continued manufacturing firearms under the leadership of Bruce Jennings’ former employee, Paul Jimenez. The new company faced similar controversies due to lingering quality concerns. Eventually, in 2003, the renamed company, Jimenez Arms, distanced itself from the Jennings Bryco legacy, striving to improve its reputation by focusing on quality control and safety measures.
