J. Stevens Arms

The J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company has a rich history dating back to the mid-19th century. Founded by Joshua Stevens in 1864, the company initially manufactured firearms, tools, and machinery. However, it was their firearms division that became most renowned. Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, J. Stevens Arms produced a wide range of firearms, including rifles, shotguns, and pistols. Their firearms were respected for their quality and affordability, gaining popularity among hunters, sports shooters, and law enforcement agencies. In 1916, Savage Arms acquired J. Stevens Arms, continuing to produce firearms under the J. Stevens brand. The Stevens name remained prominent until the mid-20th century when the brand was phased out, but the legacy of J. Stevens Arms endures through the classic firearms they created.
