DWM
Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) was a renowned German firearms and ammunition manufacturer formed in 1896 through the merger of various smaller firms. DWM quickly rose to prominence as a major supplier of firearms, producing a diverse range of weapons, including rifles, handguns, and machine guns. The company’s most significant achievement was its involvement in the development and production of the iconic Luger P08 pistol, which became the standard sidearm for the German military. DWM gained international recognition for its firearms’ quality and reliability. However, financial challenges led to its dissolution in the 1920s, with some of its assets and designs acquired by other companies. Despite its closure, DWM’s contributions to German military weaponry and its association with the renowned Luger pistol continue to hold a significant place in firearms history.
