Boker 1906 Castle Burg 7.80″ Folding Knife

Castle Burg is a landmark of the Bergisches Land, rising above the river Wupper near the Boker Manufactory.vEven today, Burg Castle still reflects the enormous wealth of the dynasty and their far-reaching influence in North rhine-Westphalia. Count Engelbert II. von Berg was also the Archbishop of Cologne. This inspired us to preserve the historic material for future generations, skilfully turning it into handle scales in our Manufactory. This was the foundation of our knife series Boker Schloss Burg, comprising seven traditional knife styles steeped in history. All styles are handcrafted by Boker Manufactory Solingen as a strictly limited edition of 1133 pieces worldwide. They come with a new version of the historic Boker tree symbol. Some things are very much en vogue for a while before falling back into obscurity – usually deservedly so. Yet others are much too beautiful, too precious to remain lost forever. The classic Boker 1906 is such a case. The design is more than a hundred years old, but it’s clean lines are still much loved today. Thus, we spared no effort in bringing 1906 back to life. Neither old tools nor prototypes or design drawings existed, so we had to redesign the knife from scratch, guided by traditional methods throughout the whole production process. The result is a charismatic pocket knife with a new lease of life, exuding fin de siècle charm – a very special piece mainly because of its clean lines and characteristic grind.
